Revolt brews against RFK Jr. as experts pen rally cries in top medical journal

RFK Jr being an idiot is a feature, not a bug, of his appointment. He was chosen to own the libs, and because his idiocy plays well with the Republican base. A "rebuke" from health experts in a professional journal will be seen by the base as more evidence that "they" are trying to get people to inject CRT-laden DEI chips into our bloodstreams so that the 5G waves can control our brains.

As much as this is an unprecedented response toward an utter failure of a human being, let alone an appointed administrator at the federal level, nothing will come of it.

These are people who don't listen to reason. You either institutionalize them, or you put them down. They will not go of their own accord. They will not yield. They can not admit being wrong about anything. They are irrational, and ALMOST as helpful as a pack of rabid dogs in a preschool.

If you want to "save the children", the first thing you do is kick these people out of positions of power. I'm not really picky about how.

Will Journals be defunded / made illegal?

It is not safe to contradict MAGA ideology. The purges have been gentle so far, that will not last much longer.

ICE concentration camps and El Salvador prisons may see an influx of scientific "treasonists" that dare contradict MAGA. People are already being disappeared if the regime finds them to be the wrong race.

Ah yes, more words! Fascists hate words! They hate it when we use words against them!

This is sarcasm. You fight fascists with fire, firearms, and explosives. Lots and lots of explosives.

As a matter of fact, the largest explosives ever used on humans. That's how we got out of this mess in 1945.

Yup. Nothing short of forcible removal of power from these people is going to stop this. The faster people understand this, the better.

Jacobs and Booth argued that hiring David Geier compromises the integrity of the scientific process, erodes public trust, and provides a platform for unreliable information. It's a "dangerous concession to pseudoscience," they wrote.

"Elevating figures known for spreading unreliable information threatens not only the integrity of individual research efforts but also the broader public confidence in science," they wrote. "It sends a message that fringe views deserve equal standing with evidence-based consensus."
Yeah, but the problem is - that was the whole point. It's not an unfortunate side effect that needs to be publicized; it was the actual awful goal.

Calling it out is necessary, yes. It's not meaningless to stand up and say "for the record, this is wrong and a really bad idea,' especially given how many people and institutions aren't managing even that much.

But it also won't get us very far on its own. If we are going to fight back with words, they need to be louder, shorter, and more repetitive than this. (Or, ideally, penned by judges and backed by actual enforcement.)

So much of the modern right wing is devoted to tearing down anything that progressives champion, which includes a lot of actual progress. (Who would've thought?) I'm not sure what's worse: the ones who want to tear it down so they can sell it for scrap, or the ones who want to tear it down solely to watch others suffer.

Hush now. You will draw the wrong sort of attention. Everybody must work in their own way, preferable quietly unless you are particular good at stirring pots, and even then, do so from someplace they can’t pull you off the street and send you to El Salvador.

They are already arguing they can do this. They absolutely will. Make it at least a little difficult.

I’m agree with everyone saying that this will be ignored/celebrated by Trump’s core voters.

However, enough things like this (and inflation/recession because of tariffs) will be enough to convince the swing voters who decide the election. With some luck, Trump will crap the need hard enough that the mid-terms will go to the Democrats.

Wishful thinking unfortunately. I think Trump will bring the country to its knees and make himself supreme ruler for life.

Might get a little better in the short term but the inmates now rule the asylum and I’m doubtful the US will ever go back to the way it was. Start thinking about an exit strategy if you haven’t already would be my advice.

I’m convinced that he really wants to see people die, and he wants to know that he’s the reason that they’re dead. There’s no other explanation that makes any sense.
Well, yes. You can't have Nazis without eugenics. 'Cleansing the gene pool' is the whole idea.

There's more to it than that.

The MAGA crowd are immune to facts. I heard a guy on a podcast last week. He voted for Trump. His wife was deported by Trump. And he blamed fucking Biden for that. Now MAGA has the Emperor they have always wanted. And they will not just let it go.

There will be some sort of reckoning need to happen, if not now, then after the next presidential election (if there is an election). The MAGA people will need to be dealt with violently, with whatever force necessary. There is no alternative. The only thing they understand is violence.

For anyone that thinks that's extreme, I ask you: Is this how you want to live? Trump and his people are talking about sending American citizens to the prison in Central America for opposing the Administration. And I have no doubt there are five members of the Supreme Court that will be fine with that.

Again, is this how you want to live?

If they will, they'll be defunded regardless if they kiss Trump's ass or not. So they absolutely should protest this fascist state.

Kill your kids,
Deport your wife,
Living that great MAGA life!

Get the measles,
Get the mumps,
Outlaw who you can/can't hump!

Levy tariffs,
Levy tax,
Get this economy to crash!

I'm not usually a fan of cheesy verse to cope, but I guess I'm starting to fall into my own "unprecedented measures" rut. It blows my fucking mind to see the defenses people are putting up to defend the dictator they elected. If they're so eager and loyal as to die for the cause, I wish they'd get on with it. It will save lives in the long run.
