Lee is the Senior Technology Editor, and has been with Ars Technica since 2012. He oversees story development for the gadget, culture, IT, AI, and video sections of Ars Technica—and, when he's able, writes the occasional story in one of those sections. Lee has a BSc from the University of Houston and an extensive background in enterprise storage and security, having spent nearly a decade at The Boeing Company as an enterprise architect before departing to work as a presales engineer at EMC and then later Symantec. A long-time member of the Ars OpenForum, he lives in Houston and does the web hosting for forecasting sites Space City Weather and The Eyewall. In what free time he has, Lee also produces an Elite: Dangerous webcomic called Fangs.
